General Responsibilities
The Sr. Systems Administrator supports the Computing Operations team in the implementation, administration and support of Windows operating systems, data center virtual/physical platforms, both on premise and the cloud. Ensures that the proper functioning of the company's servers and operating systems, and that its processes are completed in a timely manner while in compliance with policy and regulations. Monitors operating systems to determine adjustments to be made according to customer or organizational needs. Performs maintenance to the tools and make required upgrades when needed. Notify, document, and appropriately refer when a server or application is reporting an incident, making the changes necessary for optimal performance. Defines standards, guidelines, rules for managing the system and track work processes to facilitate further interventions according to procedures. Maintains computer networking system by tracking server activity, performing software upgrades and maintaining computer hardware. Recommends and contributes to ongoing improvements in server configuration and deployment of applications, projects, upgrades, migrations, among others. Addresses questions and requests about technical problems with the On-prem infrastructure and improves efficiency by evaluating system functions. Performs first, second or third level support related to server functions, troubleshooting, support other operational/application teams and projects assigned. Provides on call duties, as assigned by the management, related to incidents, service breakdowns, servers troubleshooting, patching or vulnerability remediations, changes, or projects assigned, among others. Provides support or lead, according to operational needs, of new system upgrades or server fixes. Leads complex projects related to servers' migrations, obsolescence, capacity management, critical incidents, and problem resolution. Pursues efficiency and improvement by supporting work processes to facilitate further interventions. Performs duties through methods and actions that are consistently ethical and in total compliance with the laws, applicable regulations, Code of Ethics, corporate policies and guidelines and rules of conduct. Completes corporate trainings and certifications intended for the detection and prevention of money laundering related activities and fraud, insider training and conflict of interest policies and procedures, as applicable.
Performs duties through methods and actions that are consistently ethical and in total compliance with the laws, applicable regulations, Code of Ethics, corporate policies and guidelines and rules of conduct. Completes corporate trainings and certifications intended for the detection and prevention of money laundering related activities and fraud, insider training and conflict of interest policies and procedures, as applicable.
Education and Experience Required
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, or related fields. • At least five (5) years of experience working with Windows servers and IT systems infrastructure is required. • At least one (1) year working on IT projects related to Windows platforms and servers.
Knowledge and Skills Required
• Installation and configuration of operating systems and server hardware. • Demonstrates proficiency in the use, administration, and configuration of Windows platforms, both physical and virtual. • Excellent troubleshooting skills related to Windows operating systems, hardware, and virtual servers. • Cloud based server administration a big plus. • Ensure efficiency of IT infrastructure. • Resourcefulness and problem-solving aptitude. • Excellent Teamwork and Customer service-oriented skills. • Experience with VMware virtualization platforms. • Proven experience as a Windows System Administrator. • Capable of editing, adding, and removing Windows Registry entries. • General knowledge of system security and data backup/recovery. • Familiarity with various operating systems and platforms. • Resourcefulness and problem-solving aptitude. • Strong communication skills both written and oral in Spanish and English. • Effective time management and organizational skills. • Exceptional analytical skills with great attention to detail. • Ability to work successfully on several priorities simultaneously. • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships.
Additional Information
Wednesday - Sunday 5:00pm - 2:00am
Available to work extended hours, weekends and/or holidays as needed and the availability to travel as required supporting projects in the region.
