General Responsibilities
Act as a Senior Back End Developer Specialist, designing, developing, maintaining, and supporting scalable, secure, and high-performance backend solutions aligned with business and technical requirements. Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for a highly visible and business-critical application, providing deep technical knowledge, guidance, and ownership across its lifecycle. Lead the technical oversight of an application developed and maintained by an external vendor, ensuring compliance with internal architecture standards, security policies, and best practices. Establish and maintain effective communication and collaboration with the vendor, acting as the primary technical point of contact to coordinate activities, clarify requirements, review deliverables, and address issues. Perform technical investigations and deep-dive analyses to identify system issues, performance degradations, and defects. Drive root cause analysis in collaboration with the vendor and internal teams, ensuring timely identification, validation, and resolution of incidents and problems. Review, validate, and contribute to technical documentation, including architecture designs, integration flows, operational procedures, and troubleshooting guides. Proactively identify opportunities for improvements, optimizations, and technical enhancements, working with the vendor to define and implement corrective and preventive actions. Support production environments, participating in incident management, problem management, and post-incident reviews to ensure system stability and reliability. Provide technical leadership and mentoring to development team members, promoting best practices in backend development, code quality, and system design. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (architecture, security, QA, DevOps, product, and business stakeholders) to ensure solutions meet functional and non-functional requirements. Ensure adherence to software development lifecycle (SDLC) processes, change management practices, and regulatory or compliance requirements applicable to the platform.
Performs duties through methods and actions that are consistently ethical and in total compliance with the laws, applicable regulations, Code of Ethics, corporate policies and guidelines and rules of conduct. Completes corporate trainings and certifications intended for the detection and prevention of money laundering related activities and fraud, insider training and conflict of interest policies and procedures, as applicable.
Education and Experience Required
Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related technology field, or equivalent combination of education and professional experience. Six (6) or more years of experience in IT roles related to application support, backend systems, infrastructure operations, or enterprise applications. Proven experience supporting and maintaining enterprise and web-based applications in production environments, including troubleshooting, maintenance, and performance optimization. Hands-on experience working with Unix/Linux and Windows environments, including system monitoring, log analysis, and issue resolution. Experience diagnosing and resolving issues across application, operating system, cloud, and infrastructure layers. Background in production support and operations, including incident resolution, system availability, and reliability monitoring. Experience working in cloud environments such as AWS and/or Azure, including server management, monitoring, and operational support. Demonstrated experience producing and maintaining technical and operational documentation, including troubleshooting procedures and system support guides. Experience collaborating with cross-functional technical teams and providing support to end users or internal stakeholders
Knowledge and Skills Required
Strong knowledge of Unix/Linux operating systems, including command-line usage, process management, file systems, logs analysis, and basic scripting. Advanced expertise in Java for backend development, including enterprise-grade applications, APIs, and service-oriented architectures. Solid experience with application servers, particularly Apache Tomcat, including configuration, deployment, monitoring, and troubleshooting. Proven knowledge of Oracle Database, including SQL and PL/SQL, performance tuning basics, data modeling concepts, and investigation of database-related issues. Familiarity with infrastructure and networking components, such as F5 load balancers, including traffic routing concepts, high availability, and basic diagnostics. Strong understanding of enterprise application architectures, including integrations, batch processing, messaging, and backend services. Experience working in high-availability, highly visible, and mission-critical systems, preferably in regulated or enterprise environments. Ability to analyze logs, metrics, and system behavior across multiple layers (application, middleware, database, and infrastructure) to support investigations and incident resolution. Demonstrated capability to perform technical investigations and root cause analysis, collaborating with internal teams and external vendors to identify and resolve complex issues. Experience reviewing and validating vendor-developed solutions, ensuring alignment with internal standards, architecture guidelines, and security requirements. Strong documentation skills, with the ability to produce and maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and improvement recommendations. Knowledge of SDLC, change management, and production support processes, including incident, problem, and release management. Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with vendors, technical teams, and business stakeholders, translating complex technical concepts into clear and actionable information. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with a proactive mindset toward continuous improvement and system optimization

08 AM to 5PM
Available to work extended hours, weekends and/or holidays as needed and the availability to travel as required supporting projects in the region.
