General Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and inspire a team of UI/UX Designers to cultivate a product-focused and customer centric culture. • Define the UI/UX vision for Evertec's digital products, ensuring alignment with our brand identity, the unique needs of our diverse user base and the goals of the business lines. • Collaborate with business owners, product managers, and software engineers to ensure designs align with set goals, remain technically feasible, secure, and optimized. • Convey design concepts visually through sitemaps, app flow maps, mockups, prototypes, guidelines, specifications, presentations, and team discussions. • Research and evaluate emerging design trends, technology, industry, and market trends. Provide recommendations based on that research. • Explore and assess emerging trends in design, technology, industry, and market dynamics, offering informed recommendations based on these insights. • Ensure designs meet financial industry regulations (e.g., PCI DSS) and accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG). • Collect and analyze user feedback to pinpoint and resolve design obstacles. 

Performs duties through methods and actions that are consistently ethical and in total compliance with the laws, applicable regulations, Code of Ethics, corporate policies and guidelines and rules of conduct. Completes corporate trainings and certifications intended for the detection and prevention of money laundering related activities and fraud, insider training and conflict of interest policies and procedures, as applicable.

Education and Experience Required

Education: Bachelor's degree in graphic design, human-computer Interaction, or a related field from an accredited institution. Experience: 3+ years of experience in the areas of User Experience Design for diverse platforms including desktop, mobile, tablet and others. Expertise in the payments or financial services industry, with familiarity in payment processing, fintech, e-commerce, mobile applications, merchant acquiring, and credit/debit card platforms or related products is preferred. Portfolio: A robust portfolio demonstrating expertise in designing user-centered digital products, preferably for both web and mobile platforms. Knowledge of Figma is highly preferred. Tools Proficiency: Mastery of essential UI/UX tools, including design and prototyping platforms like Figma for creating wireframes, mockups, and interactive prototypes, collaboration tools such as Jira or Confluence for project management and team coordination, and Adobe Creative Suite for high-fidelity visual design work. Familiarity with front-end development tools is a plus.

Ensures business direction and efficiency. Applies data collection and analysis to evaluate information. Challenges assumptions, generates innovative ideas, and applies tailored problem-solving techniques. Consulting, Communication & Negotiation: Excels at identifying client needs and offering accurate recommendations. They can recognize areas for improvement and provide creative ideas. They influence and change others' minds when necessary. Clients and peers seek their advice for direction, strategy, decision-making, and solutions. They communicate effectively in Spanish and English, providing clear information to various audiences. They listen attentively, ask appropriate questions, and avoid interrupting. They reach mutually beneficial agreements, showing flexibility and maintaining relationships. They employ different negotiation styles and demonstrate strong persuasion skills. Technical Proficiency: Demonstrates technical knowledge and expertise, leveraging it to devise innovative solutions for complex challenges. Proficient in applying tools, technologies, and methodologies such as design software, prototyping platforms, and basic development principles to enhance product functionality and user experience. Identifies technical constraints, evaluates their impact, and strategizes to deliver efficient and optimized outcomes. Integrates analytical knowledge with creative problem-solving to tackle challenges in design, usability, and system performance, delivering solutions that align seamlessly with user needs and business goals. Time Management & Project Management: Effectively organizes tasks to complete them on time with minimal follow-up. They plan and control their daily hours to achieve objectives and goals, prioritizing tasks and monitoring time usage. They apply a methodical approach to project management, including planning, executing, controlling, and closing. They capture project requirements, specify deliverable quality, estimate resources and timescales, develop and implement management plans, lead and motivate teams, manage risks and changes, monitor progress, manage budgets, communicate with stakeholders, and close and monitor projects. Decision Making & Problem Solving: Objectively assesses information, evaluates alternatives, and selects optimal solutions to resolve issues effectively. They anticipate outcomes, weigh costs and benefits, and make timely decisions. They balance pros and cons, incorporating lessons learned, diverse perspectives, and stakeholder impacts. They analyze complex data and problems to identify root causes and design tailored solutions. They think creatively to address various challenges and apply innovative problem-solving to deliver timely solutions that enhance customer satisfaction and business efficiency.

Monda to Friday 9:00AM-6:00pm 

Available to work extended hours, weekends and/or holidays as needed and the availability to travel as required supporting projects in the region.
